Logistics Controller | Stellenbosch

Our client is looking for an exceptional Logistics Controller to join a fast-paced commodity logistics environment where accuracy, strong administration and the ability to work under pressure are essential. This role is responsible for coordinating high-volume commodity movements while managing customer interaction, invoicing, financial administration and delivery requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric and Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field
  • Proven experience in logistics coordination (4-6 years), preferably within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and working with large volumes of data
  • Sound understanding of invoicing, credit notes, statements and basic financial principles
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Experience working with logistics, supply chain, FMCG, agricultural, commodity trading, fruit or a similar high-volume environment will be advantageous
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be comfortable working with significant financial values and confidential information
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be willing to work additional hours when required, particularly during month-end
  • Clear criminal and credit checks

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the movement of commodity loads from silos to mills and ensure deliveries are completed according to contract requirements
  • Manage daily logistics requirements across allocated customer accounts and tonnages
  • Liaise with customers, transporters, mills and internal departments to ensure seamless delivery execution
  • Monitor delivery schedules and resolve logistical issues within tight deadlines
  • Process and verify invoices, credit notes, statements and supply documentation
  • Submit accurate documentation to Finance for payment and ensure financial information is correctly captured
  • Maintain accurate Excel schedules, reports and transaction records
  • Manage high volumes of logistics transactions while maintaining accuracy
  • Monitor allocated tonnages and customer requirements
  • Ensure customers receive consistent communication and updates
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate issues and take ownership of corrective action
  • Work closely with the Logistics Team Lead and wider logistics team to maintain service levels
  • Support month-end processes and work additional hours when required
  • Learn and utilise the company’s internal trading and logistics system
