IT Desktop Technician | Stanger, KZN

Established company is looking for an IT Desktop Technician to provide first-line technical support to end users and the production environment.

Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • A+ and N+ Certifications
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience providing end-user support
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience supporting desktop hardware, laptops, scanners and printers
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in network support and troubleshooting

Preferred

  • IT Certificate or Diploma
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience supporting workstation hardware
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in user support
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience troubleshooting network connectivity
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred but not considered an absolute requirement 

Advantageous

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience supporting manufacturing systems
  • Basic technical hand skills (ability to work with hand and power tools)

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure and repair desktop hardware and operating systems.
  • Provide first-line support for IT issues affecting the production environment.
  • Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, printer, scanner and peripheral issues.
  • Support basic network connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Assist senior IT staff with investigating and resolving technical issues.
  • Assist with the implementation and support of IT infrastructure projects.
  • Document IT support procedures and technical processes.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring timely resolution of support requests.

Shift Work This role operates on a shift rotation to provide IT support to a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Technicians work:

  • Alternating day and night shifts
  • Night shift every second week
  • Rotational schedule supporting continuous production operations

Working Hours

Day Shift 07:00 – 16:30

Night Shift Approximately 19:30 – 06:00
