Our client in the Seychelles is looking for a strong Head of Operations to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of an established landscaping and horticulture business, managing 50+ employees and multiple client sites.
This is a senior, hands-on and client-facing role requiring strong experience in landscaping, irrigation, maintenance, construction and large-site operations, together with proven leadership and operational management skills.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Matric and relevant tertiary qualification in Horticulture, Landscaping or Operations Management
- 7–10 years’ experience in operations management, preferably within landscaping, horticulture, construction, facilities or a related environment
- Proven experience managing large teams, including managers, supervisors, technical personnel and field-based employees
- Strong practical understanding of landscaping maintenance, irrigation, construction and large-site operations
- Experience managing multiple contracts, projects, budgets, resources and operational priorities
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage at senior level
- Sober habits, clear criminal record, valid passport and strong references
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the planning, coordination and performance of daily operations across client sites, projects and nursery activities
- Lead and manage Operations Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors, technical personnel and field teams, ensuring strong accountability and productivity
- Ensure contracts and projects are appropriately staffed, equipped and resourced to meet deadlines, quality standards and client expectations
- Oversee landscaping maintenance, installation and irrigation operations, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely and to specification
- Monitor contract and project performance, including labour, materials, equipment, budgets, overtime, costs and profitability
- Conduct regular site inspections and address operational, quality, safety, staffing and service issues promptly
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a senior point of contact for operational and technical matters
- Oversee the effective utilisation, maintenance and replacement of vehicles, machinery, tools and irrigation equipment
- Work closely with Procurement and Finance to ensure effective resource planning, cost control and availability of operational supplies
- Drive continuous improvement across the operation while supporting senior management with operational strategy, workforce development and future growth
