A well-established Big 5 game reserve in KwaZulu-Natal is looking for a mature and experienced couple to manage and oversee its operations. This is a long-term opportunity for a settled couple who are passionate about the bush and ready to take on a leadership role within a respected safari brand with lodges across South Africa and the wider African continent. The couple will manage two lodges directly and oversee the managers of two additional camps, helping to build a strong, united team and deliver excellent guest experiences.
Minimum Requirements:
- A mature couple with solid experience in safari lodge and hospitality management
- Strong leadership and people skills, with the ability to unite and manage a large, diverse team
- Hands-on experience in lodge maintenance, roads, vehicles, and game reserve infrastructure
- Experience managing the Guiding Team and front-of-house hospitality operations
- Zulu-speaking ability and cultural awareness are an advantage
- Comfortable living and working in a remote environment
- Looking for long-term stability and growth within a larger safari company
Duties:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across four lodges— personally managing part of the portfolio whilst supporting the managers of the others
- One partner to lead the ranger teams and reserve maintenance ensuring consistent quality in guiding and reserve operations
- One partner to manage all front-of-house operations, including guest services, housekeeping, kitchen team
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, service, and guest satisfaction across all camps
- Build team spirit and create a positive, unified work culture among up to 50 staff
- Oversee infrastructure and maintenance, including fencing, roads, and vehicles
- Manage bookings, budgets, and general admin duties
Salary: R50,000 per month per couple (Cost to Company)
