Contract Manager (Construction) | Durban

Join a national construction organization with experience across the board in industrial construction, data centres, civil engineering, retail and commercial.

Requirements:

  • N6-Civil Engineering, ND in Civil Engineering or Building Science.
  • Registration with SACPCMP.
  • Over 10 years of technical experience in the building industry.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage diverse teams.

Familiarity with the following:

  • Construction project management software.
  • Health and safety regulations in construction.
  • Quality assurance and control procedures.

Duties:

  • Implement and monitor construction schedules and quality standards.
  • Coordinate various project stakeholders effectively.
  • Ensure accurate site records and documentation.
  • Address project challenges proactively through regular site reviews.
  • Promote health and safety standards across project sites.

Where You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Implement company procedures and project objectives on site, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
  • Develop and maintain the project construction programme, information schedules, and long-lead time plans.
  • Brief and coordinate with consultants, sub-contractors, and site staff to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Monitor progress, measure performance, and compile reports for site meetings, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Establish and oversee the project quality plan, ensuring compliance with all project and company policies.
  • Manage project information flow, including study, distribution, and record keeping.
  • Lead regular meetings with sub-contractors and site staff to discuss progress, scope of work, safety, and administrative issues.
