Store Manager | Richards Bay, Port Shepstone and Hilton

Our client, an established organization within the retail, FMCG, and food and beverage sectors, is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee daily operations, drive sales, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct store employees to achieve sales targets
  • Manage stock ordering, ensuring accurate inventory levels while minimising wastage
  • Oversee store operations including supplies, equipment, and staffing
  • Implement marketing and promotional activities to increase store visibility
  • Develop and execute pricing strategies to meet sales goals
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with Food Hygiene and safety standards
  • Maintain temperature control, pest management, PPE adherence, and proper product handling
  • Grow sales and market share through strategic initiatives
  • Facilitate communication between store and management teams
  • Oversee meat processing and wholesale activities
  • Negotiate sales prices and monitor quality control in line with the Meat Safety Act
  • Lead food safety audits and ensure all documentation is compliant
  • Manage store financials, costs, and statutory requirements
  • Handle staff recruitment, training, disciplinary actions, and team management

Requirements:

  • Matric (National Senior Certificate)
  • At least 5 years’ store management or supervisory experience in a retail food environment
  • Leadership and business acumen
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Financial management skills
  • Stock control expertise
  • Effective team management abilities
  • Analytical mindset

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of Food Safety and Food Hygiene standards
