Logistics General Manager – Durban

Our client, a well-known FMCG retailer is looking for an experienced Logistics General Manager to take national responsibility for the Warehousing and Transport of their Supply Chain and the management of their 3PL Cold Chain via 3PL provider.

Minimum Requirements

• 3 year Supply Chain Degree (Honours preferable)
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in Logistics
• FMCG retail Supply Chain Experience – Essential
• Incredible leadership and people management skills needed
• Extremely strong character with the ability to challenge the status quo and deal with all levels of management within the wider business
• Proficient in full Microsoft Office Suite of Products
• Advanced Excel – Pivot tables, Vlookup’s – Essential
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• Knowledge of transport management systems
• Exceptional understanding of warehouse management systems
• Willing to travel

Responsibilities

• Full operational KPI responsibility for DC’s and Financial KPI’s vs budget for DC cost centre’s, nationally
• Continuous improvement and streamlining of processes to drive efficiencies
• Implement SOPs and new processes as required by growth of business
• New DC’s
• Commercial negotiations and RFP processes
• Occupational, Health and Safety (OHS) in all DC’s
• Management of Transport providers and Resolve
