Embedded Software Engineer – Durban

We have an opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer to join a vibrant team on the forefront of “IoT” development worldwide.

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join the R&D team with skills and a passion for C programming for embedded controllers.

As a Durban based company acting on the international stage our client is looking for people who are keen to share in their passion for making a difference in their field.

You will get a wide range of exposure to modern technologies ranging from embedded software development in C and JavaScript, web design, analogue and digital electronics design, electronics production and systems engineering.

Requirements: 

• Bsc Engineering degree or B.Tech
• 2 to 5 years’ experience in embedded software and hardware development

Desirable Skills:

• Proficient in ANSI C software development. C++ experience is advantageous
• Experience with real-time embedded operating systems
• Exposure to the ARM microcontroller family, and a willingness to work with the hardware and make it sing
• Exposure to professional software development practices such as use of revision control systems, GIT, various IDE’s, code walk throughs and unit testing
• Excellent communications skills
• An artistic talent of some form would not do any harm either
