Business Development Manager – Durban

A dynamic entrepreneurial company specialising in tech-based solutions to the Transport and Logistics industries are seeking to employ a Business Development Manager with previous logistics/ telematics/ tech solution provider experience.

Minimum Requirements

• Tertiary degree
• 5+ years of sales/ business development experience
• Cross-border logistics experience
• A background from the transport and logistics industry
• Experience in the security/ emergency response/ telematics industry a bonus

• Sales management experience managing other sales resources beneficial
• SAS experience and/or selling a B2B2C technology solution
• Demonstrated experience owning and managing the full sales function
• A background from the transport and logistics industry
• Data driven approach and administration proficient
• Experience with demonstrating a technology product/service
• Proficient with various software packages (Microsoft Office, Xero, Mechanic Desk, Call Management Software)
• Excellent presentation skills
• Proven track record of successfully introducing & selling a new concept in the market
• Successful onboarding of new customers
• Comfortable working in a fast paced and challenging environment
• Unendorsed driver’s license and own car
• Willing to travel

Responsibilities:

• Building and maintain your own sales pipeline as well as extract value from an existing pipeline
• Be able to take over a deal at any stage
•  Identify and develop new revenue opportunities and streams
• Understand our prospects problems and what our solution can do for them
• Guide the sales approach and process to achieve success
• Ability to operate a technical solution and present the customer with the product journey with ease
• Manage the customer onboarding process
•  Manage the account relationship post onboarding to drive revenue growth
• Produce accurate and thorough weekly sales tracking & reporting
• Meet quarterly/half year revenue and other sales initiatives/targets
• Collaborate with the Marketing department to create customer relevant materials to help sales efforts
• Assist & guide the Product/Tech department with customer requirements/pain-points and as well as guidance on ways to enhance the solution for sales traction
• National travel presenting to customers, attending events, and building long lasting relationships with key personnel in the industry
