A unique opportunity to join a high-end safari operation in Northern KZN as the Transport and Logistics Manager. This is a key support role responsible for managing the full spectrum of transport and fleet operations at a luxury safari lodge. You will work closely with the Safari Manager, managing all logistics related to vehicles, staff, and guest movements – ensuring world-class standards of organisation, cleanliness, and operational readiness.

Accommodation: Single onsite flatlet provided

Roster: 3 weeks on / 1 week off or 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Start date: May 2026

Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12) + tertiary qualification in Logistics, Transport Management, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Logistics Management
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with fleet and vehicle management including maintenance planning
  • Computer literacy essential – particularly Excel

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented
  • Strong planner and problem solver
  • Clear and confident communicator
  • Disciplined, with sober habits
  • Physically fit and healthy – able to work in remote conditions
  • Works well in a team environment and under pressure
  • Comfortable in non-guest-facing, operational roles
  • Passion for nature and the outdoors
  • Clear Credit and Criminal record
  • Strong references

Key Responsibilities:

Transport & Guest Logistics

  • Oversee all transportation logistics including:
    • Guest transfers to and from private airports
    • Staff transport schedules
    • Food and supply transportation
    • Game drive coordination and planning
  • Manage day-to-day back-of-house operations in support of the guiding team (not guest-facing)

Fleet & Vehicle Management

  • Manage a fleet of 25 new game vehicles
  • Work alongside 25 game rangers to ensure vehicles are properly maintained, stocked, and ready
  • Oversee:
    • Daily mileage tracking and fuel usage
    • Vehicle maintenance schedules and servicing
    • Cleanliness and readiness of vehicles before and after each drive
    • Depot parking and vehicle rotation
  • Ensure each game drive vehicle is stocked with correct:
    • Cooler boxes
    • Food and beverages as per guest preferences
    • Radios and safety equipment
  • Conduct stock takes and unpack coolers post-drive
