Our client is looking for an exceptional Inventory Manager with Bonded Warehousing experience, to oversee their high-value raw materials store. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient management of stock, compliance with health and safety regulations, and the integrity of their Bonded Warehouse and Inventory.
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain, logistics or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience in managing a SARS-registered bond or rebate store – essential
- Working knowledge of Bond Store legislation and compliance
- Experience working with iSync or an Inventory Management System
- Proven experience in stores management in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in managing high value stock, preferably in the furniture manufacturing industry would be advantageous
- Proficient in Excel
- Happy to work long hours and weekends when required
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations pertaining to stock management
- Excellent references
- Clear criminal record
- Own car
Responsibilities:
- Previous experience in managing a SARS-registered bond or rebate store
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies regarding stock management
- Refine and improve current SOP’s related to stores management
- Implement consistent batch control principles and ensure adherence across the team
- Apply FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to manage stock turnover effectively
- Oversee the issuing, receiving, and holding of stock using a serialized barcoding system.
- Implement and maintain quality and consistency checks for each delivery.
- Ensure the integrity of stock data on the company’s inventory management system.
- Conduct daily, monthly, and annual stock takes to ensure accuracy.
- Manage health and safety compliance within the stores area.
- Ensure that stock is stored in accordance with ASIB fire safety requirements.
- Supervise and manage a team of 2 clerks and 8 labourers, ensuring effective training and development.
- Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability within the stores team.
