(CLOSED) Regional Merchandise Manager (Window Décor | Durban North

Our client who specialises in Window Décor for the retail sector, is looking for a Regional Merchandise Manager for KZN. The purpose of the role will be to ensure prime position and staff management at retailers who stock their products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Matric + Tertiary qualification in Retail Management, or a related field would be an advantage
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role in a related retail environment (Hardware, Home Décor)
  • Strong background in sales operations and team leadership.
  • Ability to fight for retail space and maintain it
  • Experience in managing large teams across multiple locations is preferred
  • Proficiency with retail management systems, time and attendance etc
  • Ability to analyse performance data and implement strategies for improvement
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and motivational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle

Responsibilities:

  • Disciplinary management
  • Supervise and motivate a team of 50+ sales assistants across multiple locations within the province
  • Conduct regular visits to various stores across KZN to provide support, coaching, and motivation to sales staff, ensuring they meet or exceed sales targets
  • Monitor and track sales performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies to increase sales
  • Ensure that sales operations are running smoothly at all locations by coordinating with store managers, ensuring effective stock management, merchandising, and adherence to company policies
  • Conduct regular audits and performance reviews of store operations, ensuring high levels of customer service and operational efficiency
  • Coordinate with other departments (HR, inventory, marketing) to implement programs and initiatives that enhance store performance and team morale
  • Conduct regular training sessions to keep staff updated on new products, promotions, and sales techniques
  • Identify areas for improvement and work with sales assistants to develop their skills and performance
  • Collaborate with HR and payroll departments to ensure that compensation structures are followed
