We are looking for a seasoned Production/Factory Manager with a strong background in corrugated packaging to oversee our entire production process. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, quality assessment, and customer satisfaction. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong organizational and managerial skills.
Minimum requirements:
- Matric and relevant tertiary qualification
- Previous experience working in a corrugated environment (beneficial)
- 5+ years of production experience
- Must have managed over 60 people
- Strong organizational and managerial skill
- Computer literate with advanced Excel
- Own vehicle (necessary)
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety: Chair safety committee, ensure safety meetings, and compliance with legislation
- Production: Monitor productivity, implement training, and optimize production processes
- ISO/Policies & Procedures: Maintain and improve ISO standards, implement company procedures
- Discipline & HR: Drive disciplinary procedures, manage production personnel, and conduct appraisals
- Development: Pass first-offs on new products
- Quality: Oversee customer complaints, ensure quality standards, and maintain ISO9001 quality system
- Raw Materials: Manage supplier relationships, stock levels, and inventory
- Maintenance: Ensure machine maintenance, implement preventative maintenance program
- Planning: Oversee planning, ensure effective productivity, and minimize WIP
- Dispatch: Manage dispatch schedules, vehicle utilization, and costs
- Procurement: Negotiate with suppliers, reduce costs, and maintain stock levels
- Administration: Ensure effective communication, resolve creditor queries, and manage stock count variances
- Sales: Ensure on-time delivery, meet customer requirements
