We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Technician to provide technical support for IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network-related issues at a manufacturer in South Durban. The role is suited for someone with strong technical skills and a strong desire to learn and grow within the company.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or certification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
- 1+ years’ experience in a technical support role
- Basic understanding of operating systems, networks, and hardware (Windows, LAN/WAN, etc)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Key Functions
- Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software systems
- Provide first-level technical support to employees and troubleshoot IT-related issues
- Monitor and maintain computer systems, networks, and related equipment
- Assist with system updates, backups, and security protocols
- Set up and configure new user accounts, hardware, and workstations
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and assist with procurement
- Escalate complex issues to outsourced IT consultants when necessary
