Our client is looking for a dynamic and target driven External Product Consultant, to grow new business sales and establish new customer relationships, whilst strengthening existing ones. The successful candidate will be based at the Centurion office, the region they will manage is Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The ideal candidate is expected to have an appetite for developing business in the PPE market.
Qualifications:
- Post graduate qualification / diploma / BCom degree / or similar (preferred)
- 3-5 years’ experience in a sales and marketing environment, industrial exposure preferred
- Strong selling skills and sound sales experience with proven track record
- Effective networking expertise & excellent communication skills
- Able to sell on value over price. Market, sell and promote a high-end, value-added product in a price-driven market
- Can proactively draft sales generating strategies based on market and customer requirements
- Strong general computer literacy. Ability to navigate new systems, reports, and detailed excel data on both a laptop and smartphone.
- Valid driver’s license with ability and willingness to travel to all customers within the greater inland region (Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga)
- Clear criminal and ITC credit record
Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales volumes and gross margin targets as determined by the annual budget
- Implement and manage the overall pricing strategy per distributor as determined by the company
- Implement and manage the overall distribution management system as determined by the company
- Maintain a high level of activity at your customers prioritizing of time spent at the most lucrative accounts whilst managing a healthy end user / distributor split
- Guide, support and train distributor and end users on the products, technical information and relevant standards and test methods
- Host regular Academy days / Webinars for the distributors and end users in your portfolio. This must be in line with the requirements of a minimum of 2 per quarter
- Ensure high levels of distributor engagement, relationships and customer service
- Apply the principles of the end users strategy and sell on value over price at both end user and distributor level
- Be proactive in identifying and executing growth areas, new opportunities and initiatives at both end user and distributor level
- Accurate management of product samples – control and follow-up to ensure feedback and success
- As a sales specialist, support the Marketing function – brand awareness and exposure, public relations opportunities, ensure all distributors adhere to the CI regulations
- Support the Product Management function – market information (end users / competitors etc.) / product requirements and evaluations / launches / positioning / trials / feedback
- Support the internal sales function: ensure updated communication at all time and all internal processes are followed to ensure customer service
