Leader in Supply Chain and Logistics Solutions is looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) who will focus on driving business growth by identifying new sales opportunities, maintaining and building relationships. The successful candidate will be a natural hunter with a passion for sales and will be responsible for bringing in new business and play a crucial role in expanding our organisation’s market reach and increase revenue.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Matric and tertiary qualification in Business/ Sales/ Supply Chain
- Minimum 5 years’ experience selling supply chain and logistics solutions
- Proven experience in a commercial or business development role, preferably within a logistics or supply chain environment
- Knowledge of customs, SARS and other regulatory requirements
- Experience with tender applications and secure tender business
- Solid understanding of logistics principles, processes, and best practices
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, (Outlook)
- Own vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Clear credit and criminal records
- Verified References
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying and researching new business opportunities
- Cultivating a strong commercial pipeline and secure new customers
- Building and maintaining customer relationships and convert into repeat business
- Negotiating and closing deals
- Onboard new customers successfully, adhering to SOP, SLA, KPI and RFQ requirements
- Collaborate and work closely with the operations team to ensure that a customer is on-boarded and serviced to the highest level
- Developing a business development strategy focused on financial gain
- Managing key account relationships
- Exceed targets set in terms of generating revenue for the company
- Update and maintain customer interaction data in sales CRM tool
- Analyse market trends, identifying potential target markets, and researching leads
