Business Development Manager – JHB

Our client is looking for a confident, competitive Business Development Manager to join their dynamic team. This is an extremely competitive environment to operate in and the ideal candidate must be resilient and happy to negotiate with all levels of management. Ability to challenge the status quo and close deals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric and Degree (BCom)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant sales experience (preferably in the packaging industry)
  • A proven successful sales track record
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to converse the partial and full language barriers
  • Solution orientated problem solver, ability to plan routes and maximise on time vs. spend
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint
  • Own car – essential

Job Functions:

  • Expanding the customer base in existing markets and finding new ones
  • Thorough understanding of the manufacturing process for the relevant products, people, technology, constraints and opportunities
  • Build strong cross functional relationships with customers
  • Build and maintain market/competitor knowledge
  • Negotiate sales contracts
  • Explore opportunities to improve customer’s supply chain
  • Find opportunities that introduce new products and services
  • Be the link between the customer and the manufacturing units
  • Continuous improvement and innovation
